Many departments on campus are involved in providing a smooth transition to Rochester. Transfer Connection Club is a student organization whose mission is to facilitate the successful and smooth integration of transfer students into the Rochester Community.

Transfer students will find an enthusiastic, diverse, intellectually-minded community ready to embrace different backgrounds and culture. The student body also includes older students and living options are available for students who are married or may have children. Over one third of students choose to study abroad, and a multitude of cultural-awareness groups in the student body celebrate their diversity by sharing with the community at large.
6. GRADUATE SCHOOL
The University of Rochester is among the top institutions in the nation that successfully send students on to graduate school, Ph.D. programs, and professional schools such as law and medicine. Depending on where you are headed, some students decide to stay in Rochester to apply to our graduate and Ph.D. programs within the departments, or to apply to our nationally renowned School of Medicine and Dentistry, the School of Nursing, the Simon School of Business, or the Margaret Warner School of Education.

8. SPECIAL PROGRAMS/OPPORTUNITIES
Transfer students are eligible to participate in the many great academic opportunities that are only at Rochester, such as Take 5, lessons at Eastman, Quest, Senior Scholars, and the Kauffman Entrepreneurial Year. The City of Rochester is home to Paychex, Xerox, Eastman Kodak, Paetec, and more-opportunities for students abound! With the help of the Career Center, Counselors help students identify values, interests, personality traits and skills to help identify career field and academic options.
9. Merit Scholarships
All transfer students are given consideration for a merit scholarship when they apply. Merit scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and potential, regardless of financial circumstances. Not all applicants who are admitted will receive a merit award; transfer scholarships generally range from $3,000 to $10,000 per year. Phi Theta Kappa honor society members are awarded at least $5,000 per year.
